By Kirsten King
Having rebalanced, realigned and rebuilt thousands of bodies, Fluidform founder Kirsten King shares why purpose is at the heart of true wellness.
My approach to optimising and achieving wellness has always been holistic. I’ve witnessed firsthand the power of functional movement beyond the studio. I often say to my clients, “the exercises I teach you are not to improve your strength on the mat – I am setting you up to move your body free of pain and imbalances, every day.” My goal is to bulletproof my clients’ bodies to take on the world with confidence.
So when WelleCo asked me what the wellness world needs more of, I said purpose. Because when we move, eat, sleep and connect with purpose, we have the ability to transform our lives.
Purpose #1: Education
I am always learning. Our knowledge of wellness is ever-evolving and I want to be open to change, to question everything, and share my learnings with our community around the world. I see a lot of power in educating, researching, connecting and sharing. I believe this is when we can create real change in our lives and in the lives of those around us.
Movement goes hand in hand with how we fuel our bodies, the products we use, our quality of sleep and social connections. I’ve done a lot of trial and error when it comes to finding clean, safe and effective products (ones that work, and are safe to use around my girls!). So when I find something that works, I want to share it with our members.
There is no shortage of information (and mis-information) in the wellness world, especially online. But it’s important to do your own research and find resources that you can trust. I work closely with people of all ages and stages — from professional athletes to pre and postnatal clients, injury rehabilitation, perimenopausal women, and more recently, teens. What’s become so clear to me is that there is a lack of education available for people moving through different life stages, which can often deter us from seeking guidance and prioritising our bodies.
At Fluidform, our promise is that it’s for all bodies, but no single program is suited for everyone. That’s why we take a personalised approach to movement — designed to move with you and help you move with purpose through all stages of life.
Purpose #2: Balance
Building a consistent routine can be highly beneficial in achieving results and seeing progress. However, a routine that is unrealistic or restrictive can bring more pressure and stress than good. For me, balance is about prioritising small, achievable practices across all areas of wellness — 20 minutes of movement every day, drinking 2L of water, aiming for a healthy source of protein and vegetables with each meal, and magnesium before bed (my WelleCo Evening Elixir doubles as an after-dinner treat). These small, daily practices help me find balance, motivating me to make healthier choices, improve my sleep, boost energy and calm my nervous system.
Achieving results isn’t always about intensity, but consistency. Set goals you can achieve today, not next month, and trust the process — change doesn’t happen overnight. It’s about creating a sustainable, balanced relationship with your wellbeing.
Purpose #3: Movement
I often describe movement as medicine — a form of meditation that has the ability to transform your life. It’s one of the most powerful tools we have to feel our best. Movement looks different for everyone, and what the person next to you in class (or on Instagram) is doing might not be right for you. Movement truly is about the journey. Our desire for perfection or quick fixes are often the biggest barriers to real, lasting change.
I teach a considered, personalised movement method that brings your body back into alignment and rebalances your posture to move with strength and confidence. Whether you’re new to Pilates, afraid of movement, or sceptical about slowing down — trust the process. Believe that you can change. You’ll be amazed at what your body can do when you give it time and attention.
Purpose #4: Basics
The Fluidform philosophy encourages us to return to the basics — daily movement that challenges without strain, a mindful wholefoods diet, quality sleep, and simple rituals that calm the nervous system. These are the true building blocks of wellness.
I love that my WelleCo rituals complement my day without overcomplicating it. Whether I’m waking up in the morning, moving my body or winding down in the evening, WelleCo has become a daily staple to nourish, support and optimise my wellbeing.
When we move, eat, sleep and connect with purpose, we have the ability to transform our lives.
