Because having a cold when it’s hot is a headache.

Whilst summer colds are only 25 percent as common as winter ones, there is nothing nastier than sniffling on a hot day. Whilst there are a number of different strains, winter colds tend to be caused by temperature, whilst summer sniffles are generally spread by cold viruses.

Common symptoms of a summer cold can include a stuffy nose, razor sore throat, cough, feeling feverish and sneezing fits. In summer the enterovirus, a group of viruses that cause a number of infectious mild illnesses, tend to be more prominent (compared to the rhinovirus in winter) but typically last longer than those of winter colds.

To prevent a summer cold, try looking to the cause rather than fixing the symptoms. Bolstering immune function is your first defence and key to staying pepped-up all summer long. Because a weak immune system can be caused from too much sugar, excessive alcohol, antibiotics, sleep deprivation, dehydration and stress, making lifestyle adjustments and taking a potent supplement can make all the difference.

There are many variables when it comes to a nurturing a strong immune system, but the one constant is cell function. Our bodies were designed to fight disease. If you nourish your body properly and give your cells what they need they are likely to split and divide correctly and your body should respond well.

WelleCo SUPER ELIXIR Greens supports cell function via the 11 systems of the body.  To boost immune function, it is formulated with a careful combination of shiitake and maitake mushrooms that accelerates their efficiency.  Used medicinally by the Chinese for more than 6,000 years and a symbol of longevity due to their health-promoting properties, they act as an immune boosting powerhouse and a good source of key antioxidant minerals, including manganese, selenium, and zinc. This antioxidant concentrates in parts of our body where there’s lots of oxidative stress—the lens of our eye and the liver, as well as sensitive areas such as bone marrow and seminal fluid.

2 teaspoons a day of SUPER ELIXIR Greens in filtered water throughout summer will help build up a strong immune system and quash any colds or lurgies heading your way.
