Aussies at New York Fashion Week
After founding their eponymous label in Sydney in 1991, sisters Nicky and Simone Zimmermann took the bold step of fusing fashion with swimwear and presented it to the world. While the swimsuit thrust ZIMMERMANN on to the international stage, it has been its optimistic, feminine and consistently desirable collections across its ready-to-wear and resort that have propelled it to greater global appeal. While based at home in Sydney, ZIMMERMANN present their ready-to-wear collections each season at New York Fashion Week. They also have showrooms in London, New York and Los Angeles and six stores across the US. Today Zimmermann is synonymous with Australian style and has a devoted following of fashion elite, including our own Elle who wore new season Zimmermann at our recent Super Boosters launch at Icebergs on Bondi Beach.
Also from Sydney, Dion Lee is renowned for experimental construction combined with traditional tailoring. Each collection marries innovative construction, with a consciousness of the female form. Textiles are engineered to form sculptural embellishments and architectural silhouettes are dissected to enhance movement and the flow of air and light. After debuting at Australia Fashion Week, Dion Lee presented collections in London before relocating to New York, where the brand has become a permanent fixture on the seasonal schedule.
