JUSTINE FLYNN, CO-FOUNDER & BRAND MANAGER, THANKYOU.

DAILY BITES –THANKYOU. IS A SOCIAL ENTERPRISE THAT TAKES A HOLISTIC APPROACH TO COMBATING POVERTY WORLDWIDE, WITH 100% OF THEIR PROFITS HELPING PEOPLE IN NEED AROUND THE WORLD.  HOW DOES CO-FOUNDER JUSTINE FLYNN FUEL HER SUPER BUSY DAYS? SHE CHATS THROUGH HER DAILY PLATE WITH DR. SIMONE LAUBSCHER PHD.

On waking: A peppermint tea and green smoothie.

Dr. Simone Laubsher PhD. (DL): Great, just be sure to keep your vegetable intake up. Some smoothie recipes can be very high in fruit and leave you on a low an hour or so later. We recommend including no more than two types of fruit, the rest vegetables, and 2 teaspoons of THE SUPER ELIXIR that contains 45 bio-live, plant-based nutrients.

Breakfast: Gluten-free toast with a poached egg, avocado and smoked salmon, or a green smoothie.

DL: Delicious!  I suggest only having smoked salmon twice a week, as smoked foods are carcinogenic. Best not to eat in excess.

Mid-morning snack: Nuts.

DL: Nuts are a wonderful snack as they keep your blood sugar levels balanced. Walnuts are particularly good if you have a busy day and need to really be on fire mentally.

Lunch: Chicken salad with quinoa, lettuce and almonds.

DL: Great lunch and I'm sure your chicken is organic.  The last thing we need are extra doses of animal hormones. If it is hard to always source organic, opt for fish instead. If the only fish available is tuna or any other fish high in mercury, make sure you take some super greens like THE SUPER ELIXIR alongside it. The greens help remove the mercury via your stool.

Afternoon snack: Piece of fruit or nuts.

DL: Nuts are a good choice as they will sustain you with a slow release, so you feel mentally and physically strong to finish the day.

Dinner: It always varies but usually meat and lots of veggies. I try to pile up as many greens as possible.

DL: Once again ensure the meat is organically sourced. The more legs an animal has, the more cholesterol it has and the more acid forming they are. Shell fish, beef, pork and lamb have the highest bad cholesterol and are the most acid forming. Proteins like chicken and fish (legless!) has the lowest cholesterol and are more alkalising.

Dessert: Piece of dark chocolate (I like 85%)

DL: Great choice. Try having with herbal tea, like our Sleep Welle Fortifying Tea, if you need to wind down. It’s a great evening ritual. Our tea also has a little raspberry leaf and mango and will combat any after dinner sweet cravings.
