ACTOR, STAR AUCTIONEER & AVID SURFER JAMES PRATT LIVES BETWEEN LOS ANGELES AND SYDNEY. HERE HE CHATS TO DR SIMONE LAUBSCHER PHD ABOUT HIS DAILY DIET.
Breakfast: Usually it’s a protein shake or cold water, then fresh fruit like oranges, berries, banana and strawberries mixed with Greek yoghurt.
Dr Laubscher PhD (DL): Sounds good! Make sure your protein shake is vegan. Whey protein comes from dairy milk and is very rarely organic so contains nasty female hormones (the last thing a man needs!) Try our plant-based WelleCo NOURISHING PLANT PROTEIN with organic pea and rice protein that provides all 9 essential amino acids.
Make sure your yogurt is vegan for the same reason - vegan coconut yoghurts are great. Fruit like oranges is acidic in nature and stays as such in the body. Try opting for more alkalising alternatives like lemon, berries, apple, pear, and melons.

Mid-morning snack: Time is usually the problem here, so If I have something it’s on-the-go, like mixed nuts or a muesli bar.
DL: Nuts are brilliant as they are wholefoods (meaning they still look like they did in nature which is always the goal). Almonds, brazils, walnuts and pecans are best. Peanuts tend to contain fungus so best to avoid. The muesli bar market is a real mindfield, so make sure you choose a brand with wholefood ingredients and no added sugar or trans fats.
Lunch: Tuna or chicken salad with plenty of water. I try and include red and green vegetables like tomato, capsicum, lettuce and cucumber.
DL: Great - lots of antioxidants from the various colours of your vegetables! If you can't get organic chicken it’s best to avoid due to the hormones and stay with fish instead. Lots of water is great but will dilute your stomach acids. Have maximum 200ml water with any meal and have your large volumes 1 hour away from food to maximise digestion and absorption.
Dinner: Grapefruit and avocado salad mixed with seared salmon, or spaghetti with wilted greens and walnut-parsley pesto. I try and add in a serve of broccoli, beans or tomato, if it’s not a part of the meal.
DL: You are on the right track here, just try to source wild over farmed salmon. The more humans involved the more chemicals our food has. Spaghetti is fine if you have no IBS, your body fat is good, and you wake up refreshed in the mornings. If you have any of those symptoms, best to choose rice spaghetti or make spaghetti out of courgette with a spiraliser.

Water Intake: I drink 2-3 litres per day.
DL: Your total water intake is right on point.
Sleep Patten – I regularly Skype with family and business in Los Angeles so that means early starts to the day, waking up at 4.30am to call them.
DL: The key to feeling good so early, is to consider what you do the night before. If you are up early, eating gluten containing products before you sleep will make you feel tired. If you are worried about getting too skinny, swap out the pasta for sweet potato or brown wild rice and save the pasta for weekends when you can sleep in.
Also you need to be in bed and ready to sleep by around 9pm if you are to be up so early. Try creating a lovely wind-down sleep routine with WelleCo SLEEP WELLE Calming Tea, SLEEP WELLE Calming Mist and meditation music. It gets me into a deep sleep faster so I can survive on much less sleep.
I notice that you don't take any supergreens. I don't get much sleep either as I have my clinic in London, a new clinic here in Abu Dhabi and my mentor in in the USA. Between all 3 time zones it can be tricky! If I don't take WelleCo SUPER ELIXIR everyday I really struggle with the stress of it all. I would strongly suggest that you take 2 teaspoons per day in 500ml cool water mid-morning or mid-afternoon as part of your water routine. Everything will feel easier if you support your body's 11 systems, so you can function correctly and give your body the optimum fuel it needs at a cellular level.
Fitness: I usually surf or swim a few times a week but mostly it’s after work around 5.30pm.
DL: Wonderful! Salt water is medicine to the body and facilitates detox and surfing uses all major muscle groups so a WIN WIN!
